George Kennedy is specialist Dr. Bruckner who performs questionable experiments on coma patients. After a botched operation, he collides with Chief-of-Staff Dr. Horvath (Jules Croiset) who refuses him a grant to continue his research. Enraged, Dr. Bruckner leaves the hospital. His car smashes into a fuel truck, and he is badly burned and is in shock. Seven years later... Dr. Bruckner suddenly awakes from his coma and follows hospital medic Peter (Koen Wauters) home. Peter and his neighbor Amy (Nada van Nie) are in for a night of terror, as the disfigured Dr. Bruckner is driven by a mad compulsion to destroy.
