Story outline:
Dutch engineer Paul Henkes (Herbert Flack) lives on the tropical island of Bonaire, with the mature British sculptress Elizabeth (Sarah Brackett), but escapes from the monotonous island life by keeping a string of native mistresses. He has even fathered a son, Tico, with one of them. When Tico suddenly dies, guilt causes a crisis in Pauls life. He accuses Dr. De Winter (John van Dreelen) of murdering his son, and also quarrels with his girlfriend Valerie (Patty Brard), who now claims to be pregnant from him. Paul quits his job, flees from reality and himself. He disappears into the inhospitable wilderness of the island.
